Delhi Metro Services to Commence at 2:30 PM on Holi, March 25

According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), Metro services on March 25 (Monday) will commence at 2:30 PM on Holi.

“On the day of the ‘Holi festival, i.e. 25th March, 2024 (Monday), Metro services will NOT be available till 2:30 PM on all Lines of the Delhi Metro including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line.” Delhi Metro Rail Corporation posted on X.

“Metro train services will thus start at 2:30 pm from terminal stations on all Lines on 25th March and will continue normally thereafter,” DMRC said.

The DMRC also stated that if there are instances of encroachment or parking by auto/e-rickshaw drivers, passengers can reach out to station authorities or call the 24*7 IVRS helpline at 155370 for prompt assistance.

“Auto/e-rickshaw drivers and other encroachers are regularly removed from the station premises by the station staff and security staff. Moreover, the mentioned area does not come under the purview of DMRC.” DMRC posted on X.

This year, Holi falls on March 25.

Before the festival, there is a customary ritual known as Holika Dahan, symbolizing the burning of the demon Holika.

During the festivities, traditional sweets are exchanged, promoting camaraderie and unity among individuals, while participants radiate happiness and affection. Some of the nation’s ancient and renowned pilgrimage destinations like Vrindavan, Mathura, and Barsana attract revelers who immerse themselves in colors on this occasion.

The festival is dedicated Lord Krishna, who is said to have spent significant time in a region known as Braj in Uttar Pradesh. It not only embodies the essence of Holi but also symbolizes the eternal love between Radha and Krishna.
