Delhi Man Arrested For Killing, Burying Female Twins 3 Days After Birth

Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a man and his family members for allegedly killing and burying his newborn female twins due to their “unhappiness” over the birth of girls.

Neeraj Solanki, 32, a resident of Pooth Kalan in Delhi, was arrested in Sampla, Rohtak, Haryana. According to police, he had been evading arrest by frequently changing his location.

Amit Goel, DCP (Crime), stated that a PCR call was received on June 3 reporting that a man had murdered his three-day-old twin girls and buried them in a burial ground. A police team arrived at the scene and obtained permission from the subdivisional magistrate to unbury the twins’ corpses. On June 6, a postmortem was conducted, and the bodies were handed over to the twins’ maternal uncle. A complaint was subsequently filed on behalf of the twins’ mother.

Her in-laws had allegedly been harassing the woman over dowry since her marriage to Solanki in 2022 and she was also made to undergo a sex determination test, according to the complaint.
