Delhi: The Rouse Avenue Court rejected a petition filed by BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, which requested additional investigation and the presentation of a Call Detail Record pertaining to a coach.
The court scheduled May 7, 2024, for delivering the decision on the ‘framing of charge’ regarding the case involving sexual harassment accusations made by six women wrestlers against Brij Bhushan Singh.
The Delhi police filed a charge sheet against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and Vinod Tomar last year. The case was initiated based on a complaint filed by female wrestlers when he was the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President. Singh has refuted allegations of sexually harassing the six female wrestlers, all of whom have represented India internationally. An associate stated that his innocence would be demonstrated through legal proceedings. If found guilty, he could be sentenced to imprisonment for a period ranging from three to five years.
