Delhi: 14-Year Old Girl Assaulted By Classmates, Gets 17 Stitches On Face

On Monday, a 14-year-old girl from Delhi’s Gulabi Bagh area was allegedly attacked with a blade by a classmate, resulting in serious injuries that required 17 stitches to her face.

The victim’s family is demanding strong punishment for the youngsters engaged in the tragedy. On Wednesday, the Delhi police took suo moto cognizance of a supposed video that leaked online, which showed the girl with significant facial injuries, and launched an investigation.

According to the victim’s statement, the incident occurred on April 29 at approximately 11.20 a.m., while she and her classmates were eating lunch.

Some females took her friend’s tiffin and ran, resulting in a heated argument when the victim’s friend requested for it back. The victim sought to calm the situation, but the argument escalated, and her classmate assaulted her with a sword.

The victim’s family claims that no one at the school helped her following the assault. “My kid has 17 stitches on her face. Her medical condition is still critical. After the attack, no one even assisted her in getting to the hospital,” the victim’s mother added. The victim’s elder sister stated, “My sister, who sustained facial injuries, is a ninth-grade student. When a fight broke out among her friends, she tried to appease everyone. But she was attacked. The police must take strict action against them.

On Wednesday, a supposed video of the altercation appeared on social media. The viral video shows a girl being allegedly beaten with a blade to her face on school grounds. It also depicts the girl with a laceration on the right side of her face, with blood streaming down half of her cheek. The video has sparked widespread interest and aroused concerns among viewers.

The police have initiated action under the Juvenile Justice Act because all of the people on the video are minors. The incident has aroused concerns about the safety and well-being of students in educational institutions, as well as the importance of taking prompt action to prevent similar incidents in the future.
