Congress Set For A Clean Sweep In Haryana Assembly Elections, Exit Polls Reveal

As voting for the 2024 Haryana Assembly polls ended on Saturday, exit polls suggested a landslide win for the Congress party, which is likely to clinch more than 50 of the 90 available seats.

The Republic TV-Matrize exit poll projects 55 to 62 for Congress while the BJP will collect 18 to 24. According to another count, the People Pulse exit poll says that Congress might gather as much as 44 to 54, BJP between 15 and 29, and other parties may grab a few up to 4 to 9 seats.

A Dainik Bhaskar survey believes the same. Congress might win 44 to 54 seats. The BJP could win 15 to 29 and others between 4 to 9 seats. According to the Dhruv Research poll, Congress is projected to acquire 50 to 64 seats, with the BJP potentially winning 22 to 32 seats.

By 5 pm on Saturday, Haryana had a turnout of 61% in all the 90 assembly constituencies. The Mewat district topped the list with a high turnout of 68.28%, while Gurugram seemed to be the lowest with 49.97%.

Other remarkable voting percentages include Yamunanagar at 67.93%, Palwal at 67.69%, Fatehabad at 67.05%, and Jind at 66.02%. The number also recorded 65.76% in Mahendragarh, 65.55% in Kurukshetra, and 65.37% in Sirsa. Other numbers from the ECI reflect Hisar at 64.16%, Bhiwani at 63.06%, Kaithal at 62.53%, Ambala at 62.26%, and Rewari at 60.91%.

The sealing and sealing of EVMs and VVPATs sealed the voting process. A total of 1,031 candidates fought it out through the 20,632 polling booths that were set up across the state for the election in the 90 assembly constituencies. The counting of votes for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir would take place on October 8.

In the recent Assembly elections of 2019, BJP bagged 40 of the 90 seats and a coalition government was formed with JJP. Ten members from JJP bagged the seat and Congress secured 31 seats, but the JJP later resigned from the coalition.
