Congress MLA keeps promise, blackens face after Madhya Pradesh election loss

Congress MLA, Phool Singh Baraiya, who had earlier pledged to blacken his face if the BJP secured over 50 seats, fulfilled his promise on Thursday. He applied black paint on his face as promised. Newly elected Congress MLA Phool Singh Baraiya fulfilled his pledge following BJP’s victory in more than 50 seats. He marked his face with a black substance in Roshanpura Chauraha, Bhopal, in front of the media. However, later, this event turned into a protest against the EVMs.
During this, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh was also present with Baraiya. He mentioned that Congress won in the ballot paper elections, but faced defeat in the EVMs. Thus, the real black mark would be the fault of the EVMs. He stated that Baraiya should not have to blacken his face, but as they stand by their promise, they respect him by applying the mark so that no one casts an evil eye on him.
The protest against the EVMs transformed Baraiya’s publicized event of blackening his face after the BJP’s victory in more than 50 seats. People were carrying placards protesting against the EVMs. During the protest, marks were made on the EVM posters. Supporters of Baraiya gathered in large numbers for the demonstration.
Regarding the black marks, Baraiya mentioned that the EVMs are responsible for the country’s looting. If they blacken the face of the EVMs, the country, the constitution, and democracy will be saved. Alleging the faulty EVM’s responsible for Congress defeat he also said that if the EVMs responsible for the country’s looting are not held accountable, nothing will be left here. The government has been looted via the EVMs.
