Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, one of the stars of the recently commenced Operation Sindoor, spoke to the media today, extolling the mission’s triumph over terror camps on the border. Her command and courage have not only received approbation in defence circles but also among her beaming family in Gujarat.
Her father, Taj Mohammed Qureshi, speaking to journalists, was full of pride at his daughter’s contribution to national security. “We are very proud. Our daughter has done a great thing for our country. Pakistan should be destroyed. My grandfather, my father, and I were all in the army. Now she is, too,” he said.

A Legacy of Service
The Qureshi family has a long history of serving the Indian Army. Col Sofiya is the fourth generation to wear the uniform, and her contribution to Operation Sindoor has given a new chapter to this proud tradition.
India initiated Operation Sindoor in reaction to the recent Pahalgam terror attack and has led to the destruction of several terror hideouts in Pakistan and PoK. The operational leadership of Col Qureshi in the strikes has been widely admired and recognized.
