CM Yogi Adityanath receives grand welcome in Gorakhpur after ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Ram Temple in Ayodhya

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath received a warm welcome in Gorakhpur on Saturday, marked by celebrations following the fulfillment of the promise to construct the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Residents of all ages, including youths, women, elders, and children, enthusiastically danced and waved saffron flags adorned with the image of Shri Ram, extending a festive greeting to the ‘Gorakshpeethadhishwar.’ Amid the rhythmic beats of drums, they chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Thanks Yogiji.’ Flowers were showered on the Chief Minister during his journey from the airport to the temple, and various folk artists performed at different locations to honor the CM.

The people’s expressions of joy were acknowledged by ‘Gorakshpeethadhishwar’ and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who smiled and exchanged greetings with the crowd. This visit marked Adityanath’s first return to Gorakhpur after the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla at the grand Ram Temple on January 22.

Despite his busy schedule as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the past seven years, Yogi Adityanath has regularly visited Gorakhpur. The Gorakshpeeth has played a crucial role in the conceptualization, prolonged struggle, and eventual construction of the Ram temple.

The press release highlighted the historical involvement of Gorakshpeeth in the Ram temple movement, noting the leadership of Mahant Digvijaynath in 1949 and Mahant Avedyanath in the nineties. Mahant Avedyanath, the lifelong president of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagya, expressed the last wish to build the Shri Ram temple.

Yogi Adityanath, succeeding Avedyanath, dedicated himself to fulfilling this mission, turning the dream into reality. During his parliamentary tenure, he raised the issue of the Ram Temple, and as Chief Minister, he wholeheartedly worked towards realizing his Guru’s dream, culminating in the foundation stone being laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 5, 2020.

During his visit to Gorakhnath Temple, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath worshipped Guru Gorakhnath and paid homage to his guru, ‘Brahmalin’ Peethadhishwar Mahant Avedyanath, at the Samadhi site. The streets were filled with people forming a human chain at various locations, including Dharamshala Market, Vishwakarma Temple, and Tarang Crossing, expressing their joy and showering flowers on the CM. Folk artists and NCC and Scout cadets also joined in the celebrations. MP Ravi Kishan Shukla, Mayor Dr Manglesh Srivastava, MLA Vipin Singh, and Mahant Ravindradas of Kalibari were present among others during the occasion.
