CM Gehlot unveils transformative initiatives for Rajasthan’s progress

On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot ceremoniously raised the national flag at Sawai Mansingh Stadium for the 15th time. The event, a state-level gathering at SMS Stadium, witnessed the unveiling of transformative announcements with the potential to reshape the state’s future.
Addressing the assembled audience, Chief Minister Gehlot underscored the intrinsic importance of Ramgarh Dam in shaping Jaipur’s identity. He highlighted the dam’s vulnerability due to evolving circumstances, resulting in its gradual desiccation. In response to this challenge, Gehlot introduced an ambitious initiative – the revival of Ramgarh Dam through the infusion of water from Isarda Dam under the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP). This visionary project, estimated at 1250 crore rupees, aims to fortify water supply arrangements across areas including Aandhi, Jamwaramgarh, Amer, Jalsu, Govindgarh, Shahpura, Viratnagar, Pauta, Kotputli Block, Thana Ghazi, and Bansur Blocks within the Alwar district.
Signifying the vital significance of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), Gehlot pointed out the inclusion of 26 dams in the former government’s Detailed Project Report (DPR). To bridge existing gaps, he declared the integration of 53 dams from the ERCP with the districts of Dausa, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, Bharatpur, and Alwar. This amalgamation is anticipated to escalate the ERCP’s project cost to 1665 crore rupees, extending substantial benefits to approximately 11 lakh farmers distributed across 13 constituencies.
Chief Minister Gehlot also tackled the implementation of the National Food Security Act (NFSA) by the Indian government, expressing concern over its constrained scope, which has left several deserving families devoid of support. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, an exhaustive survey was conducted, leading to financial aid of 5500 rupees for approximately 33 lakh families, encompassing both NFSA and non-NFSA segments. Gehlot expanded on this relief, unveiling the Annapurna Ration Kit Scheme, ensuring free ration kits for all beneficiaries, including non-NFSA households.
Amplifying efforts towards welfare, Gehlot provided insights into the Chiranjivi Jeevan Rakshak Yojana, which presently extends Rs 5000 and commendation certificates to individuals aiding road accident victims. The scheme’s remuneration will be elevated to Rs 10,000, alongside the introduction of a parallel initiative for individuals assisting law enforcement during crises.
Venturing into the realm of technology and women’s empowerment, Gehlot launched the initial phase of the Indira Gandhi Smartphone Scheme, aimed at provisioning smartphones to 40 lakh girls and women. The subsequent stage aspires to encompass an additional 1 crore beneficiaries, facilitated by Guarantee Cards.
Moreover, Gehlot ushered in reforms to the promotion system, introducing the Dynamic Promotion System and Policy (DPSP), streamlining advancements from constables to the echelon of Police Inspectors, thereby revitalizing the police hierarchy.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s announcements exemplify a comprehensive strategy towards holistic development, embodying his unwavering commitment to elevate Rajasthan’s communities and infrastructure.
