CI team nabs two hitmen from Arsh Dalla Gang, recovers ammunition

The CI (Counter Intelligence) team of the Delhi Police special cell arrested two criminals carrying ammunition near Pragati Maidan Tunnel, outer ring road, on Thursday morning. The police recovered one hand grenade, one pistol, and five cartridges. Both the criminals were associated with Arsh Dalla, a gangster turned terrorist hiding in Canada.
According to police officials, based on secret information, they intercepted them on the outer ring road and asked them to surrender. But in retaliation, they fired a bullet on the team, which passed from very close range. Meanwhile, the other accused was trying to open the safety pin of the hand grenade but was nabbed just before the safety pin was released.
The accused were identified as Krishna (25), a resident of Faridkot, and Gurender (23), a resident of Firozpur, Punjab. They both used to work for Arshdeep Gill, nicknamed Arsh Dalla, a terrorist carrying out extortion, target killing, and other anti-national activities in Punjab. They were recently wanted by Punjab Police for the murder of Congress leader Baljinder Singh, alias Balli, at his home in Moga’s Dala village. Balli was Dalla’s neighbor in the village, and both were rivals. A few hours after Balli’s killing, Dalla claimed responsibility for it through a social media post.
According to the police officials, they were going to Uttar Pradesh, where they boarded a state transport bus to Delhi and were waiting near the Pragati Maidan tunnel for their associate before the team apprehended them. The offical said that they were unaware of a live hand-grenade  in their possession. The police said they are carrying out a thorough investigation into the matter. We are also tracking the source of the hand grenade and the purpose for which they were carrying it.
