A naxal was killed in an encounter with security forces that took place in the Sukma district of Chattisgarh on Friday.
The encounter took place in the Belpocha village falling under the jurisdiction of Konta Police Station.
Superintendent of Police Kiran Chavan confirmed the incident, stating that naxal operative was killed during the confrontation and a weapon was recovered from the site.
Meanwhile, a comprehensive investigation is underway in the area, Chavan said.
