Centre released Rs 4842 crore in tax devolution to Chhattisgarh: CM Vishnu Deo Sai

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai highlighted the importance of the ‘double engine’ government in driving state development, noting that the Centre has allocated Rs 4842 crore in tax devolution to the state. He expressed gratitude, saying, “Chhattisgarh is fortunate to have a double-engine government, and we have received a significant amount of 4842 crore in tax devolution.”

Tax devolution refers to the distribution of tax revenues between the central government and the states, as mandated by Article 280(3)(a) of the Constitution. This allocation is crucial for the state’s development, and Sai extended thanks to the government of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the funding.

Sai also wished students appearing in board examinations success, encouraging them to write the exams without fear. Meanwhile, Kiran Singh Deo, the State President of the BJP in Chhattisgarh, announced that the candidate list for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections would be released after discussions with senior party leaders.

Deputy CM Arun Sao expressed confidence in the BJP’s victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, stating, “We will win all 11 seats from Chhattisgarh.” The BJP had won nine out of the 11 seats in Chhattisgarh in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting of the BJP was held in Delhi, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting aimed to finalize the first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, with discussions on candidates from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Odisha among others. The party is expected to announce over 100 names in the coming days, focusing on states where it is contesting on its own and including some seats lost in the 2019 elections.
