BSF Seizes China-Made Drone in Punjab’s Tarn Taran Region

Officials have reported the retrieval of a drone by the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police from various sites along the Tarn Taran district’s border area. According to BSF statements, the operation took place on Monday, April 22, 2024, prompted by intelligence suggesting the drone’s presence. In response, joint efforts between BSF troops and Punjab Police were swiftly deployed to conduct a thorough search of the suspected locations.

This collaborative endeavor underscores the proactive stance of security forces in safeguarding border regions from potential threats. The investigation into the drone’s origin, purpose, and any associated risks is currently ongoing, emphasizing the persistent challenges in border surveillance. The coordinated action between BSF and Punjab Police underscores the significance of interagency collaboration in upholding border security. Further updates are awaited as authorities delve deeper into the matter.

The recovered drones were identified as China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic.
“During the search operation, at about 11:45 am, troops successfully recovered one drone in a farming field adjacent to village Wan in Amritsar District. The recovered drone has been identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic,” BSF said.

The statement further said that reliable information and coordinated efforts of BSF and Punjab police successfully foiled the desperate attempts of illicit drone handlers from across the border.

Earlier on Sunday, the BSF in collaboration with the Punjab Police recovered two drones from separate locations within the border area of Amritsar. According to BSF statements, on April 21, 2024, intelligence provided by BSF prompted joint search operations in the suspected areas of Amritsar district. The recovered drones have been identified as China-manufactured DJI Mavic 3 Classics.

The search efforts led to the retrieval of two drones, one each at approximately 12:15 pm and 2:00 pm. These recoveries occurred in farming fields adjacent to Hardo Rattan village and Daoke village, both situated in Amritsar District. The successful operations are attributed to the coordinated efforts and reliable information shared between BSF and Punjab Police, effectively intercepting the illicit drone activities along the border.
