A bomb was thrown in front of a police car on Monday morning in Kannur, Kerala. There are currently no confirmed casualties. The bomb went off in Chakarakall Bavot while a police patrol was in progress. The police jeep was confronted by two ‘ice cream bombs’. The event happened this morning at four in the morning.
The bomb was thrown on the road about 25 meters in front of the police jeep.
Notably, this incident happened in the area where conflict between CPM-BJP exists.
On Sunday, there was a clash between the CPM and the BJP regarding the temple festival of Chakarakal Bavot.
Following this, the area’s police presence was increased. Searches were done by a dog squad and a bomb squad. Who tossed the bomb hasn’t been identified, though. An investigation into the incident has been launched by the police.
“After the clashes on Sunday, tight patrolling was provided in the area. However two bombs were thrown near the police vehicle on Monday morning. Bomb squad accompanied by a dog squad conducted a search in the area. We have not identified the culprits yet,” police informed.
