BJP wins one seat in Himachal Pradesh; Congress continue to lead in 38 seats

Rakesh Kumar, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, won the Himachal Pradesh assembly election from the Sundernagar constituency on Thursday, according to the Election Commission of India(ECI).
As per the information from ECI, Rakesh Kumar won the seat with a total of 29432 votes. By the time the votes in the constituency had been counted, Congress candidate Sohan Lal had amassed 21307 votes, while Abhishek Thakur, an independent, had received 14704. According to the most recent ECI statistics, the BJP is currently in the lead in 26 seats after winning one of the 68 assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh. The race appears to be fierce despite Congress continuing to hold a 38-seat advantage.
Three assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh continue to be led by independent candidates. Hiteshwar Singh, a rebel BJP member who had previously been leading the Himachal assembly race as an independent candidate from Banjar, is now in second place after Khimi Ram, a Congress candidate, has received the most votes so far with 13273, followed by Surender Shourie, a BJP candidate, with 12261.
Hoshyar Singh from Dehra, another rebel BJP candidate, continues to lead the race with 16390, followed by Dr. Rajesh Sharma of the Congress with 9381 and Ramesh Chand of the BJP with 8198.
KL Thakur, another BJP rebel is also leading with 21715 votes in Nalagarh. Ashish Sharma, another independent candidate from Hamirpur, is now in the lead in the Assembly district. I’m waiting for the results to be official before I make any decisions (about supporting another party), he remarked.
Jai Ram Thakur, the state’s chief minister, currently has a lead of 37227 votes against Congress candidate Chet Ram, whose vote total has increased by 9755.
Suresh Bharadwaj of the BJP, who is also battling the “outsider” label in Kasumpti, is in second place with 15540 votes while Anirudh Singh of the Congress is in first place with 23136 votes.
At eight in the morning on Thursday, the counting of votes for the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections began.
