BJP MLA Says ‘Hindus Should Only Engage With Hindus In Property Deals’, AIMIM Cries Unconstitutional

‘Hindus should only engage with Hindus in property deals’, MLA Nitesh Rane‘s recent comments in Ulwe have sparked controversy and protests. During a speech at a Ganesh pandal puja, Rane urged Hindus to engage in property transactions exclusively with fellow Hindus. He also advised real estate brokers to take an oath not to deal with non-Hindus and to verify Aadhaar cards before completing any property deals.

These remarks have led to protests from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), who argue that Rane’s statements go against the secular fabric of India and violate the Constitution. The AIMIM expressed concern that such statements promote religious division and undermine India’s principles of secularism.

Rane’s comments in Ulwe follow a previous speech where he stated that anyone harming Hindu seer Ramgiri Maharaj would face retaliation. This earlier speech also led to FIRs being filed against him at various police stations after a video of the remarks went viral.

Addressing the gathering of devotees and real estate brokers, Rane criticized another religion’s scriptures, claiming they advocate conversion or violence against Hindus. He challenged scholars from that religion to dispute his claim. He urged the crowd to abandon the concept of ‘sarva dharma samabhava’ (equal respect for all religions) and ‘bhaichaaracha dongar’ (hill of brotherhood), emphasizing the need to prioritize Hindus’ welfare. Rane also referenced the treatment of Hindus in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and other Islamic countries.

Furthermore, Rane assured residents of Sector 19, Ulwe, that they could contact him through his helpline if they ever felt threatened, promising to respond within 10 minutes.
