BJP MLA, 15 Others Booked For Gang Rape, Fraud In UP

A special court in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun has ordered a case to be registered against BJP MLA Harish Shakya and 15 others for gang rape, fraud, and coercion involving a land dispute.

Court Order Leads to FIR Against BJP MLA

The MP/MLA special court in Badaun, led by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Leelu Chaudhary, directed the Civil Lines police station to file charges against Harish Shakya, his brother, nephew, and 13 other associates.

The charges include:

  • Gang Rape: Allegedly committed against the complainant’s wife at Shakya’s camp office.
  • Land Fraud: Coercing a family into selling their land at an undervalued price.
  • False Implications: Filing false cases of murder and rape against the complainant’s family.

Details of the Allegations

  • Land Dispute at the Core:
    The complainant, a villager, accused Shakya and his associates of pressuring his family to sell a prime piece of land. When the family resisted, they allegedly faced threats and false accusations.
  • Gang Rape Accusation:
    The complaint states that the MLA and two aides gang-raped the complainant’s wife on September 17 at his camp office.
  • Illegal Land Acquisition:
    The accused are alleged to have illegally taken portions of the complainant’s land through coercion.

Police Investigation Underway

Senior Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Singh confirmed the registration of a case under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Inspector Manoj Kumar Singh of the Civil Lines police station will lead the investigation.

  • The court has been informed about the registration of the case.
  • Efforts are being made to gather evidence and proceed with the investigation.

MLA’s Response Awaited

Attempts to contact BJP MLA Harish Shakya for his comments have been unsuccessful.
