The body of BJP leader Dilip Ghosh’s stepson was discovered under suspicious conditions in a flat in New Town locality of West Bengal’s Kolkata, on Tuesday, local police reported.
The victim has been identified as Srinjay Majumdar (26), the son of the wife of the BJP leader Rinju Majumdar in her first marriage.
Cause of Death Under Investigation
The man was pronounced “brought dead” by doctors when he was brought to a nearby private hospital, a PTI news agency report said, quoting police.
“The cause of the death is not known. That will be ascertained only after the post-mortem examination. We are investigating the matter,” the police officer said.
There has also not been any official complaint about the incident so far. Neither Rinku Majumdar nor any of the family members of the deceased have made a complaint. Rinku, who is a leader of BJP’s women’s wing, married Ghosh in a private ceremony last month.

Dilip Ghosh is a West Bengal politician. He was Member of Parliament, elected from the Medinipur constituency in Lok Sabha. Ghosh has also been a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national vice-president between 2021-23. He also served as the ninth president of the West Bengal state unit of BJP.
Dilip Ghosh and Rinku Majumdar, who initially got in touch professionally, got married in a traditional Vedic ritual in Kolkata in April.

As per a previous PTI report, Ghosh and Rinku had met while going for morning walks and their relationship developed over time.
“My mother wanted me to get married, so to honour her wish, I am tying the knot. I will continue to be in active politics as I was before. My personal life will have no impact on my political work,” Ghosh had said on his second marriage.

One BJP leader close to him said, “It was during an IPL match last month, which Dilip Ghosh and his would-be wife attended, that they decided to marry.”
Majumdar is a divorcee, and this is her second marriage. Her son used to work in an IT company in Salt Lake, according to reports.
