BJP delegation urges Amit Shah to review Bihar’s security situation

A four-member delegation from Bihar’s BJP unit met with India’s Home Minister, Amit Shah, on Tuesday, pressing for a comprehensive review of the law and order condition in Bihar. The delegation expressed concerns over what they term a complete failure of law and order in the state.
The delegation included Bihar BJP chief Samrat Choudhary and MPs Ram Kripal Yadav, Gopal Jee Thakur, and Ashok Kumar Yadav. They are alleging that the Nitish Kumar government is engaged in appeasement politics and is providing protection to criminals in the state.
In a press meeting at the Parliament House Complex post their interaction with Amit Shah, Choudhary voiced their concerns about the numerous incidents of clashes across different districts during Muharram and the reported atrocities against Dalits in the state.
The delegation requested Amit Shah to demand a detailed report from the Bihar government regarding the state’s law and order status. They contend that this is a necessary step to counter the Nitish Kumar government’s negligence towards ensuring safety.
A significant trigger for this meeting was a recent clash in Bihar’s Kaimur district on Muharram. Choudhary highlighted this incident, in which the district magistrate and superintendent of police had to intervene, as evidence of the deteriorating law and order in the state.
Choudhary further alleged that there had been instances of communal clashes in Bhaglapur, Kaimur, Gaya, Darbhanga, Motihari, and Katihar, resulting from the government’s appeasement policies and lack of police deployment. This ongoing insecurity, the delegation insists, warrants immediate action from the Centre.
