Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan expressed confidence on Saturday in the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming Assembly Elections in Haryana, asserting that the party would emerge victorious due to the lack of a political agenda among the opposition.
Speaking at a press conference in Panchkula, Haryana, Pradhan stated, “The assembly elections in Haryana are scheduled for October, and we firmly believe that the results will favor the BJP.” Reflecting on the recent Lok Sabha elections, he attributed Narendra Modi’s third term as Prime Minister partly to Haryana’s electoral contribution. “In the last two assembly elections, Haryana has consistently placed its trust in the BJP. We are confident that in October, the BJP will retain power,” he added.
Highlighting BJP’s track record in Haryana, Pradhan emphasized, “Over the past decade, we have diligently served the people of Haryana. The PM has articulated the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, and Haryana’s contribution towards this goal is assured.”
Taking aim at the Congress, Pradhan criticized their recent actions in the Rajya Sabha, accusing them of obstructionism rather than constructive opposition. “Their move to contest the Speaker’s post unnecessarily reflects their intent to disrupt rather than contribute positively,” he remarked.
In the upcoming elections, BJP will seek to build on its performance, having secured 40 seats out of 90 in the 2019 Assembly elections, while the Congress won 31 seats. In 2014, BJP secured 47 seats compared to Congress’s 15 seats, marking a significant shift from previous elections where Congress held a stronger position.
“Our analysis suggests that the opposition lacks a clear political agenda, resorting instead to confusion, misinformation, and doubt,” Pradhan concluded, reaffirming BJP’s readiness for the electoral contest in Haryana.
