A one-and-a-half-year-old kid was rescued from Bihar’s Kaimur area on Wednesday night after being missing for 40 days, according to authorities. Seven individuals were detained, including the main lady implicated. The cops also recovered one bike, an SUV, and five mobile phones.
On June 14, the boy, the son of a couple living in a temporary tent beneath the Kudra railway bridge, was taken by unknown persons riding a bike.
A abduction case was filed at the Kudra police station. With little progress in the case despite CCTV recordings, Superintendent of Police Lalit Mohan Sharma delegated the investigation to Inspector Sanjay Rajak of the anti-human trafficking section.
The police officer subsequently zoomed down on the bike used during the incident, and the owner and his younger brother were apprehended.
The brothers then took the police team to their 40-year-old female leader, who had retained the youngster. Upon questioning, the lady admitted to the crime. SP Sharma said the suspects are being questioned.
