Bihar Dy CM Samrat Choudhary Responds To Tejashwi Yadav’s ‘Open Challenge’ To PM Modi

Amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in India, the electoral contest in Bihar is intensifying.

In response to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s “open challenge” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary stated that anyone who wishes to resign can do so before the 2025 Bihar assembly election. He added that advertisements would be printed and sent to their homes. “Keep this in writing. Whoever wants to resign can do so. Before 2025, we will get advertisements printed and send them to their home,” said Choudhary in a brief interaction with reporters at Patna Airport.

Choudhary’s statement came after Tejashwi Yadav claimed to have provided more jobs to the people than PM Modi. “Public is giving you opportunities; if you don’t fulfil them, then people lose their expectations. We got an opportunity for 17 months we had given five lakh government jobs but PM, don’t talk about that Tejashwi has given so many jobs. We openly challenge Prime Minister Modi that if he has given more jobs than Tejashwi in 10 years, then we will retire from politics,” said Tejashwi.

During his visit to Bihar’s Patna as part of the election campaign, PM Modi held a roadshow where crowds gathered on either side of the road cheering and waving at his convoy. He also visited the late BJP veteran and former deputy chief minister of Bihar, Sushil Kumar Modi’s residence in Patna to pay tribute and meet his family members. Sushil Modi passed away at Delhi’s All-India Institute of Medical Sciences on May 13 after battling cancer for seven months. He was 72.

Bihar is undergoing polling for its 40 seats in all seven phases. In the 2019 elections, the BJP-led NDA won 39 out of 40 seats, with Congress securing just one seat. The RJD, a strong political force in the state, failed to win any seats.
