Bihar CM’s Office Receives Bomb Threat From Al-Qaeda, Probe Initiated

The Chief Minister’s Office in Patna, Bihar, has received a bomb threat, prompting enhanced security measures by the police. The threat, issued in the name of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, has led the Patna Police to register a case on August 2 and initiate an investigation.

Following the threat, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) registered an FIR at the Secretariat police station and initiated an investigation.

Previously, Patna Airport also received a bomb threat via email, resulting in increased security measures. Fortunately, no incidents occurred, and the authorities were quick to respond.

In July, bomb-making materials, including 35 live cartridges, a box of potassium nitrate, trifluralin liquid cans, wooden charcoal, and twine, were discovered in a Patna residence. The police arrested a suspect, Pawan Mahto, and are investigating the potential conspiracy behind the large cache of explosives.

The police acted swiftly to prevent a major incident, and the Bihar Police are taking the current threat to the Chief Minister’s Office very seriously, with all security agencies treating the matter with utmost gravity.
