BCCI’s Jay Shah Arranges Special Charter for Stranded Cricket Team And Media

The Indian journalists stranded in the West Indies while covering the T20 World Cup 2024 are set to leave hurricane-hit Barbados on Wednesday.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah has extended his support by arranging for them to fly back with the Indian cricket team on a special charter flight.

 

The Air India charter flight, named AIC24WC – Air India Champions 24 World Cup, will transport the Indian squad, their support staff, players’ families, board officials, and the Indian media. The journalists and others have been stuck on the island for the last three days due to Hurricane Beryl.

According to the schedule, the flight will depart from Barbados at 4:30 am local time (2 PM IST) and will take approximately 16 hours to reach Delhi. The expected arrival in Delhi is Thursday at 6 am IST, provided there are no further delays.
