Bandipora Encounter: Top LeT Terrorist Killed, Two Security Personnel Hurt

Top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Commander and terrorist was killed, and two security personnel were injured during an encounter in Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday.

According to a report from India Today, the terrorist killed in the operation was Altaf Lalli, a prominent commander of the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba. The operation was part of the ongoing efforts by security forces to track down both local and Pakistani terrorists responsible for the recent Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, mostly tourists, on April 22.

Search Operation in Bandipora

The Indian Army, along with Jammu and Kashmir Police, launched a joint search operation in Bandipora after receiving specific intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. Upon intercepting the terrorists, a fierce firefight broke out.

Sources reported that one of the terrorists was injured in the initial exchange of gunfire. Additionally, two police officers, who were part of a senior officer’s security team, were injured in the encounter.

This operation is part of the broader security measures being taken to eliminate terrorist threats in the region following the deadly attack in Pahalgam. Further information is awaited.
