Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, ceremonially hoisted a saffron flag at the top of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The flag hoist celebration was held at the auspicious time of 11:55 AM, this symbolised the formal completion of the temple’s construction.
Dharma Dhwaj (Flag) is a right-angled triangular banner measuring ten feet in height and twenty feet in length. It features a radiant Sun symbolising the strength and glory of Lord Shri Ram, along with an inscribed ‘Om’ and an image of the sacred Kovidara tree. According to PMO , these elements represent divine energy, virtue and cultural heritage.
Modi hoisted the flag at 11:55 AM during the ‘Abhijit Muhurat,’ a highly auspicious time in Hindu tradition. This event, known as the ‘Dhwajarohan,’ was the third and concluding ceremony in the series of celebrations linked to the completion of the Ram Temple.
Around 10,000 people were present, many of them long-time supporters and contributors to the Ram Temple movement. The gathering of the people also included high-profile personalities such as RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, adding to the importance of the occasion.
The newly installed flag sits atop a Shikhar built in the classic North Indian Nagara architectural style. Surrounding the temple is an 800-metre Parkota, a circumambulatory pathway created in the South Indian design tradition. This blend of styles highlights the temple’s inclusive architectural vision and cultural richness.
