August 2024 Bank Holidays: Full List Of 13 Days Banks Will Be Closed Across India

In August 2024, all public and private sector banks across India will be having bank Holidays for a total of 13 days, including weekends and specific regional holidays. This schedule includes Sundays, the second and fourth Saturdays, as well as national and regional holidays.

  • August 3: Banks will be closed in Agartala for Ker Puja.
  • August 8: Sikkim will observe a holiday for Tendong Lho Rum Faat, leading to bank closures.
  • August 13: Manipur will celebrate Patriot’s Day, resulting in bank closures.
  • August 15: All banks across India will be closed for Independence Day.
  • August 19: Banks will be closed in Tripura, Gujarat, Orissa, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh for various regional celebrations.
  • August 20: Kerala will observe Sree Narayana Guru Jayanthi, leading to bank closures.

Long Weekends in August

A notable long weekend will occur on August 26 for Janmashtami, falling after the fourth Saturday and Sunday of the month. During this time, banks will be closed in many states including Gujarat, Orissa, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, and others.

Despite the Bank Holiday, online banking services and mobile banking apps will remain operational. Additionally, ATMs will be available for cash withdrawals on these holidays. Customers are encouraged to use these services for their banking needs during the holiday period.
