Atul Subhash Suicide: Nikita Singhania’s Uncle Claims Family Wasn’t Invited To Wedding

The tragic suicide of AI engineer Atul Subhash in Bengaluru has deeply impacted Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh, where his in-laws reside. While Atul’s wife, Nikita Singhania, and her immediate family have remained silent, her paternal uncle, Vinod Singhania, opened up about the family’s grief to News18.

Vinod expressed sorrow over Atul’s untimely death and clarified his familial ties, stating, “I am Nikita’s uncle. Her father, Manoj Singhania, passed away five years ago. He was a clothing businessman.” He also mentioned that the family learned about Atul’s death through media reports and a viral video.

Vinod revealed that Nikita’s wedding had caused a rift within the family. “We were not invited to the wedding and only learned about it through others,” he said. He explained that his brother, Manoj, had been estranged from the family for years, moving out of the ancestral home to live independently. Manoj built his own house and shop and maintained minimal contact with his siblings, including Vinod and their third brother, Sushil, who runs a business in Jaunpur.

Atul’s death has sparked widespread attention after his 24-page suicide note accused Nikita and her family of harassment. According to the FIR filed at Marathahalli police station in Bengaluru by Atul’s brother, Bikas Kumar, four individuals, including Nikita, are accused under Sections 108 (abetment of suicide) and 3(5) (criminal acts with common intent) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Atul had written about being court-ordered to pay ₹80,000 monthly for his wife and child, with Nikita allegedly demanding an increase to ₹2 lakh. The FIR also alleges that Nikita filed multiple false cases against Atul, demanding ₹3 crore to settle the disputes, and ₹30 lakh to allow Atul access to their son.

In his note, Atul lamented the judicial system, stating, “It’s truly disheartening that this heartless system can turn a child into a burden and a liability for the father.” Social media users have since rallied for justice for Atul, highlighting the pressures he faced.
