Assam Police stopped cattle smuggling in the Borpathar neighbourhood of Goalpara district and detained three people in association with it, police said on Sunday.
Ainar Mandal, Sabir Uddin Sheikh, and Jarif Ali were the people who were arrested. According to the police, the operation to apprehend the traffickers was started late Saturday night as a result of a covert input. Assam police have so far recovered 32 cattle near smuggling areas.
Goalpara district police officer Manoj Kumar Das said that the police team arrested three persons who tried to smuggle the cattle.
