Amit Shah Doctored Video Case: Arun Reddy Sent To Judicial Custody

Amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha election, Delhi’s Patiala House has remanded Arun Reddy, an accused who is allegedly behind the doctored video of the Union home minister to judicial custody.

As per the police, Reddy was the handler of ‘Spirit of Congress account on X and is the national coordinator of congress’s social media account.

Later, through his lawyer, the accused has moved the bail petition in this case. In response, the court has directed investigating officer to file a reply in this case tomorrow.

Previously, the accused was remanded to three days of police custody following a court’s order after being arrested on Friday night.

Besides Arun Reddy, five accused of Congress IT cell named Pendyala Vamsi Krishna, Manne Satish, Pettam Naveen Asma Tasleem and Koya Geetha. were also arrested.

On Wednesday, the Delhi special cell has issued notice to Jharkhand’s Congress president Rajesh Thakur under Section 91 of the CrPC. Summoning him to cell’s office on May 2 in connection with doctored video which was circulated on social media.

Meanwhile the matter of Arun Reddy will be heard on May 7, 2024.
