Samba, August 01: In a significant security success, alert Border Security Force (BSF) troops foiled an infiltration attempt along the international border in the Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The vigilant forces shot down an intruder who was attempting to cross into Indian territory.
Sources within the BSF reported that troopers at the Ghoda post observed suspicious movement in the forward area. Responding swiftly, the alert troops raised the alarm and established a cordon. Despite issuing warning shots, the suspected individual continued attempting to breach the border. Consequently, BSF personnel opened fire, neutralizing the intruder.
A high alert has been issued in the area following this incident, with intelligence inputs indicating that multiple terrorist groups are poised to infiltrate from across the international border.
This event comes just days after the government decided to deploy an additional 2,000 troops along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir, underscoring the intensified security measures to thwart such infiltration attempts.
