Ajit Doval Briefs Global Security Officials After Operation Sindoor

Shortly after the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor and destroyed nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval reached out to top security officials from several countries. According to sources, he informed them that the strikes were precise, restrained, and not meant to escalate the situation.

Doval holds diplomatic calls with key nations

Doval spoke to US NSA and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, UK NSA Jonathan Powell, Saudi Arabia’s NSA Musaid Al Aiban, and UAE NSA Sheikh Tahnoon. He also contacted Japan’s NSA Masataka Okano and UAE NSC Secretary General Ali Al Shamsi. Furthermore, India established communication with Russian NSA Sergei Shoigu, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and Emmanuel Bonne, who advises the French President on foreign policy.

During these calls, Doval reportedly explained that the military action was in response to the brutal Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. He clarified that India had no desire to escalate the situation but would respond strongly if Pakistan took any further aggressive steps. Sources also indicated that Doval planned to stay in touch with his counterparts over the coming days.

US urges India, Pakistan to maintain communication

The United States later confirmed that Secretary Rubio had spoken with both Indian and Pakistani NSAs. The US State Department stated on X that Rubio encouraged both sides to keep communication channels open and avoid any escalation.

Indian officials describe Pahalgam attack as barbaric

At a press conference in New Delhi, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri provided more details about the terror strike in Pahalgam. He said the attackers killed most victims with close-range headshots and forced family members to watch the killings. Misri emphasized that the purpose of this violence was to disrupt peace and stability in Jammu and Kashmir.

He also stated that intelligence agencies had detected signs of more planned terror attacks. Due to this threat, India felt it was necessary to act in advance. He explained that the strikes aimed to prevent further cross-border attacks and were designed to be proportionate and responsible.

Indian Armed Forces confirm success of Operation Sindoor

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said the operation targeted and destroyed nine terror camps. She confirmed that the sites were carefully selected to avoid harming civilians or damaging civilian property.

She explained that the operation was launched to ensure justice for the victims and families affected by the Pahalgam killings. Colonel Sofiya Qureshi presented video footage showing the precision of the strikes and the destruction of the camps.

Government had vowed to respond strongly

The Indian government had earlier warned that the terrorists behind the April 22 attack would face serious consequences. As a result, the Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor early on Wednesday as a direct countermeasure.
