An Air India Express flight (IX-196) traveling from Dubai to Jaipur, carrying 189 passengers, received a bomb threat via email at 12:45 AM on Saturday. According to Jaipur Airport Police SHO Sandeep Basera, the plane successfully landed at Jaipur International Airport at 1:20 AM. After a thorough security check, no suspicious items were found, as reported by ANI.
The incident marks the continuation of bomb threats directed at domestic airlines for the sixth consecutive day. Authorities have reportedly suspended or blocked around 10 social media accounts for posting such threats.
This event follows a separate incident involving a London-bound Vistara flight from Delhi, which was diverted to Frankfurt on Friday due to a bomb threat. An airline spokesperson confirmed that the flight landed safely in Frankfurt and that mandatory checks were being conducted before continuing to its destination.
Additionally, Akasa Air’s flight QP 1366, scheduled to fly from Bengaluru to Mumbai on Friday, received a security alert shortly before departure, prompting all passengers to deplane while local authorities conducted necessary procedures. The airline requested understanding from passengers as they worked to minimize inconvenience.
In recent days, nearly 40 flights operated by Indian carriers have received bomb threats that ultimately turned out to be hoaxes. In response, the civil aviation ministry plans to implement stricter regulations to prevent hoax threats, including adding offenders to a no-fly list.
