Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke with the Chiefs of the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy following Operation Sindoor, sources revealed. These discussions took place after the Armed Forces destroyed several terrorist hideouts late Wednesday night.
Press Briefing Scheduled
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence has announced a press briefing on Operation Sindoor for Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Officials plan to share additional details about the operation at that time.
Deepest Strikes Since 1971
Earlier this week, India conducted its most extensive strikes inside Pakistan’s undisputed territory since 1971, CNN reported. The precision attacks targeted terror camps in both Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). This action represents New Delhi’s largest military incursion into Pakistani soil in over fifty years.
Strikes Aimed at Terror Leaders
The operation sought to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians. Armed Forces sources said the strikes were designed to eliminate leaders of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) who had planned and executed attacks against India.
Official MoD Statement
In its statement, the Ministry of Defence declared, “A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed.”
It added, “Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution.”
Nine Precision Strikes
Sources told ANI that the Armed Forces struck nine terror sites in a coordinated operation. Four were in Pakistan—including Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot—and five were in PoJK. The strikes used special precision munitions to ensure accuracy and limit collateral damage.
Joint Forces in Action
The mission was carried out jointly by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, each mobilising assets and personnel. Defence analysts noted that this integrated approach underscores India’s growing capability in multi-domain operations.
Prime Minister Monitors the Mission
Prime Minister Narendra Modi monitored Operation Sindoor throughout the night, sources confirmed to ANI. They further revealed that all nine targets were successfully hit, focusing on top JeM and LeT figures involved in sponsoring terror activities against India.
