Manish Sisodia, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and a senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has reunited with his family at their residence following his release from Tihar Jail. Sisodia was granted bail by the Supreme Court in the high-profile Delhi excise policy case, bringing an end to his 17-month-long detention.

The release of Sisodia marks a significant moment for both his family and the AAP, which has been under the spotlight throughout the investigation. After being granted bail by the Supreme Court, the Rouse Avenue court promptly issued a release warrant, allowing Sisodia to walk free. The court had accepted the bail and surety bonds furnished by AAP MLA Prahlad Singh Sahni, Roshan Chauhan, Gaurav Singh Raghav, and MCD Councillor Punardeep Singh Sahni, each contributing ₹10 lakh in surety.
Following his release, Sisodia returned home to the warm embrace of his family, who had been eagerly awaiting his return. The family’s reunion is a moment of relief and joy after the long period of separation caused by Sisodia’s legal battles.
Manish Sisodia’s arrest by the CBI on February 26, 2023, and subsequent custody by the Enforcement Directorate in March 2023, had been a major blow to the AAP leadership. His previous bail applications had been rejected by the trial court and the Delhi High Court. However, the Supreme Court’s decision to grant bail in the Delhi excise policy case has provided a significant respite to Sisodia and his party.
