3 Indians Go Missing in Iran, Indian Embassy Urges Tehran to Act Swiftly

Three Indians from Punjab went missing in Iran, prompting a serious diplomatic effort from the Indian Embassy in Tehran. The three missing men, named as Hushanpreet Singh of Sangrur, Jaspal Singh from SBS Nagar, and Amritpal Singh from Hoshiarpur, went missing on May 1 soon after landing at the Iranian capital.

The embassy strongly raised the issue with officials with Iran, calling for the tracing of the individuals at an urgent pace and their return safely. The incident has been a source of worry, with the embassy reassuring families that everything is being done to ensure the safe return of their relatives.

Embassy Steps Up Diplomatic Pressure

Indian Embassy officially confirmed the occurrence in a public social media post on X. In the announcement, the embassy indicated that it has “strongly” raised the matter with the Iranian authorities. It further added that it has sought immediate and coordinated action from Tehran to find the missing citizens.

The embassy has contacted the families of the disappeared men directly in addition to the diplomatic channels. They are kept updated on a regular basis by the officials on any updates and measures taken. This direct interaction is evidence of how seriously the Indian government is treating the issue.

Punjab Men Missing After Arrival in Tehran

Though the official release of the embassy did not mention the names of the missing Indians, news channel NDTV has revealed their identities. The three men are all from the state of Punjab. Hushanpreet Singh belongs to Sangrur, Jaspal Singh is from SBS Nagar, and Amritpal Singh is a resident of Hoshiarpur.

They went missing on May 1, just days after arriving in Tehran, according to the report. There has been no word or confirmed sighting since then. The full disappearance is leaving their families and Indian authorities concerned for their well-being and safety.

Urgent Need for Answers

The silence from the three men and the lack of information about their disappearance have attracted attention on both sides. Though the Iranians have yet to make any official statement, it is now up to their authorities to probe urgently and openly.

With each passing day, the anxiety builds. The more the silence, the more grave are the concerns. India has made its intentions amply clear—its citizens need to be located and returned safely.

This case lends emphasis to prompt international intervention when lives are in question. With the embassy in full play and pressure mounting, the expectation is that Iran will move quickly to resolve the case.
