2 dacoits held in Nagaon, seize weapons

Two dacoits has been arrested by the officials of Assam Police on Monday in the Nagaon district along with illegal weapons.

Meanwhile, the police officials seized the weapons from the accused. There was one 6.35 mm pistol with two bullets.

The accused have been arrested from the Gunamari Fultoli area and have been identified as Zaheer Hasan and Jamal Uddin.

Moreover, another team of state police against dacoits launched the operation in which one of the dacoits named Rajibul Hoque sustained gun injuries. In an attempt to flee from the police, he sustained injuries.

After sustaining injuries Hoque was admitted to Nagaon Civil Hospital for treatment.

“During the operation, the police team intercepted a bike-borne dacoit, but he didn’t stop and attempted to flee. To stop the motorcycle, the police personnel fired one round of ammunition targeting the tire of the motorcycle, but unfortunately, the bullet hit the leg of the biker,” Leena Doley, Superintendent of Police, Nagaon district said.

“The biker was immediately admitted to Nagaon civil hospital and he is now out of danger,” Leena Doley said.

However, two operations at the Rupahihaat area in the Central Assam district were launched said Leena Doley, Superintendent of Police, Nagaon district.
