With the motive to settle maximum number of cases and provide relief to litigants, the National Lok Adalat was organised on Sunday across Punjab under the guidance of Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao of Punjab and Haryana High Court.
In this National Lok Adalat, a total of 1,47,423 cases were disposed of through amicable settlement and awards amounting to Rs. 612 crore were passed. The previous Lok Adalat, which was held on 11 February, 2023, a total of 1,34, 743 cases had been settled. Compared to the previous National Lok Adalat, 12,680 more cases were cleared this time.
On this occasion, Smriti Dhir, Additional District and Sessions Judge and Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, said that the litigants save both money and time after visiting the National Lok Adalat.
