At least 10 people were killed as a bus rolled down a gorge in Jammu & Kashmir’s Reasi on Sunday, DC Reasi Vishesh Mahajan confirmed. According to locals, suspected terrorists had opened fire on the vehicle, and multiple casualties are feared, Indian Express reported. The bus was on its way from Ransoo near Shiv Khori, a shrine devoted to Lord Shiva, to Katra town, which acts as base camp to the Vaishno Devi shrine in Trikuta hills.
The Reasi SSP, Mohita Sharma, and a police contingent have rushed to the spot. A video circulating on social media shows the aftermath.
In a separate accident, one person died and 14 others were injured after a minibus travelling from Manwal to Gujru Nagrota skidded off a bridge and plunged into a deep gorge near Battal Morh in Udhampur. All the injured have been shifted to the PHC Majalta for treatment, Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur Joginder Singh confirmed.
