India on Thursday observed a rise in the tally of Covid-19 cases as it recorded 19,893 new coronavirus cases and 53 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the figures shared by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The country’s active Covid-19 cases toll stands at 1,36,478. The active cases comprise 0.31% of the total infections, the ministry said.

The ministry informed that the covid death toll has now risen to 5,26,530.

The daily positivity rate is 4.94% and the weekly positivity rate now stands at 4.64%.

On the other hand, 20,419 people recovered from Covid-19 infection in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries tally to 4,34,24,029. The recovery rate reached 98.49%. 

About the covid-19 vaccination data, 205.22cr vaccines have been administered in the country so far. The covid-19 vaccination drive for the age group 12-16 started on 16th March and more than 3.91cr vaccines have been administered for this age group. Similarly, the precaution doses for the Covid-19 virus for the age group of 18-59 years started on 10 April 2022.
