India reported 12,194 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday, while less than a hundred deaths due to the virus were recorded for the eighth time this month. The total number of cases now stands at 1.09 crore.
According to the figures released by the Union Health Ministry, the total number of Covid-19 cases is 1,09,04,940 currently. After the death of 92 more patients, the total number of deaths has increased to 1,55,642, while the death rate is 1.43 percent.
Meanwhile, according to the data, 1,06,11,731 people have recovered from the infection, after which the national rate of recovery for the infection has increased to 97.31 percent. The number of patients with the infection is less than 1.5 lakh now.
In Delhi, 150 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, after which the total number of infected people in the capital so far increased to 6,36,946. With the death of two more patients, the city’s death toll rose to 10,891. At the same time, 158 patients were cured during this period, raising the total number of recoveries to 6,25,024.
4,092 new patients of the coronavirus infection were confirmed in Maharashtra on Sunday while 40 infected people died. The health department said that the total number of infections in the state has gone up to 20,64,278, while the death toll has reached 51,529.
55 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Andhra Pradesh, after which the total number of infected people in the state increased to more than 8.88 lakh. The government said that no one has died due to the infection in the state in the last 24 hours. The death toll due to the epidemic in the state stands at 7,162.
With the death of four more people in Punjab, the Covid death toll in the state went up to 5,694. According to a bulletin issued by the health department, 261 new cases of the infection have surfaced in the state and 1,76,064 people have been confirmed infected so far. Of these, 2,335 people are being treated for Covid-19 currently.
