India reported 50,129 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s total coronavirus cases to 78,64,811. With 578 new deaths, the death count mounted to 1,18,534 too. The total number of active cases now stands at 6,68,154, after a decrease of 12,526 in the last 24 hours while the total cured cases are 70,78,123 with 62,077 new discharges in the same period.
Looking at individual states, the worst-affected Maharashtra reported 6,059 new Covid-19 cases, 5,648 recoveries and 112 deaths in the past 24 hours. With this, the Covid-19 tally of the state rose to 16,45,020, along with 14,60,755 recoveries and 43,264 deaths. Active cases currently stand at 1,40,486.
Delhi reported 4,136 new Covid-19 cases, 3826 recoveries and 33 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total cases in the capital rose to 3,56,656, including 3,23,654 recoveries and 6258 deaths. Active cases currently stand at 26,744.
The neighbouring state of Haryana reported 1,240 new cases and 7 Covid-19 deaths, taking the overall total to 1,58,304 cases and 1,727 deaths. As many as 1,086 people were shown to have recovered during the day which took the state’s total recoveries to 1,46,282, although the recovery rate fell slightly to 92,41%.
The Covid-19 death toll in Uttar Pradesh rose to 6,882 with 28 more fatalities, while 2,052 fresh cases pushed the infection tally to 4,70,270. However, the recovery rate of the state has gone up to 93.72%. The total number of cases in the state now stands at 4,70,270.
Gujarat reported 919 new coronavirus-positive cases, taking the overall infection count in the state to 1,67,173. With the death of 7 more Covid-19 patients, the number of fatalities also rose, to 3,689. However, 963 patients recovered from the infection during the day, taking the count of patients discharged from hospitals in the state to 1,49,548. The number of active cases in the state is currently 13,936.
Meanwhile, West Bengal›s Covid-19 tally rose to 3,49,701 with 4,127 new cases in the last 24 hours. The state also saw 60 fresh fatalities push its death toll to 6,487.
In the last 24 hours, Andhra Pradesh reported 2,997 new cases of Covid-19, taking the total number of cases in the state to 8,07,023. In the same time frame, 67,419 samples were tested in the state, of which 2997 were detected to be positive. With this, the total cases in Andhra Pradesh have increased to 8,07,023. Currently, the state has 30,860 active cases of the infection.
Karnataka reported 4,439 new Covid-19 cases, 32 deaths and 10,106 discharges in the last 24 hours. The total cases in the state increased to 8,02,817, including 7,10,843 discharges and 10,905 deaths. Active cases in Karnataka currently stand at 81,050.
Tamil Nadu also reported 2,869 new Covid-19 infections, taking the state›s tally to 7,09,005, of which 30,606 are active patients. In the last 24 hours, 31 people succumbed to death, and with this, Tamil Nadu›s death tally mounted to 10,924.
