India reported 54,366 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total caseload to 77,61,312, while 690 fatalities pushed the death toll to 1,17,306. There are currently 6,95,509 active coronavirus cases in the country while 69,48,497 people have recovered from the disease.
Meanwhile, India also crossed the 10 crore-mark in conducting tests for the detection of Covid-19 with an average testing of more than 10 lakh samples per day in the last 17 days. Till now, 74,000 tests per million population have been conducted.
Maharashtra reported 7,347 new Covid-19 cases, 184 deaths and 13,247 discharges in the last 24 hours. Total cases in the state rise to 16,32,544, with 43,015 deaths and 14,45,103 recovered patients. Active cases stand at 1,43,922.
The national capital reported 4,086 new Covid-19 cases, 3,296 recoveries and 26 deaths in last 24 hours. The Covid-19 tally here rises to 3,48,404, including 3,16,214 recoveries and 6,189 deaths. Active cases stand at 26,001.
Haryana reported 1,270 new Covid-19 cases and 17 deaths which took the state’s overall Covid-19 count to 1,55,765 and 1,705 death. As many as 1,180 patients were discharged which took the overall recoveries to 1,43,978 with a recovery rate of 92.43%.
Rajasthan reported fourteen more people deaths in last 24 hours from coronavirus while 1,815 new cases took the state›s infection count to 1,82,570. So far, the state has reported 1,814 deaths from Cocid-19.
Poll-bound Bihar reported 1,093 new cases of Covid-19, taking the state›s tally to 2,10,388. The state also recorded eight more Covid-19 deaths, following which the count rose to 1,034. In the last 24 hours, 1,244 people were cured of the disease, taking the total number of recoveries to 1,98,437.
Punjab reported 481 new Covid-19 cases, 580 discharged cases and 23 deaths in last 24 hours. Total number of cases stand at 1,30,157 till date, including 1,21,735 discharges, 4,327 active cases and 4,095 deaths.
Amongst India’s southern states, Tamil Nadu reported 3,057 new infections and 33 deaths in last 24 hours. Total cases in the state are now 7,03,250 out of which 32,960 are active cases. 6,59,432 patients have discharged while the death toll stands at 10,858.
Active Covid-19 cases in Kerala inched toward the one-lakh mark as the daily positive count continued to rise with 8,511 fresh cases in last 24 hours while the death count rose to 1,281 with the addition of 26 deaths. As many as 95,657 people are undergoing treatment for the infection as the total infection count stands at 3,64,895.
Karnataka reported 5,356 new Covid-19 cases, 8,749 discharges and 51 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total number of cases now stand at 7,93,907 including 89,483 active cases, 6,93,584 discharges and 10,821 deaths.
