Pudhucherry : Schools shut today due to heavy rainfall

Due to the heavy rains in the area, Puducherry education minister A Namachivayam declared a holiday for all public and private schools on Wednesday. Following the ‘orange alert’ that the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued on Tuesday for exceptionally high rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Karaikal, and Puducherry, the Puducherry education minister declared a school holiday. For the next two days, the IMD has forecasted significant rainfall in more than ten districts of Tamil Nadu. According to IMD, weather patterns in Tamil Nadu are likely to cause heavy rains in over ten districts on occasion.
