The G7 is an informal alliance of industrialised democracies that meets yearly to discuss topics including international security, global economic governance, and, most recently, artificial intelligence. The G7 members are the US, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the UK.

 

Global Leaders Gather in Italy for the summit Hosted by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni welcomed a host of global leaders including UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, among others, for the 50th Summit of the Group of Seven (G7) held on June 13 and 14.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his first foreign trip after assuming office for the third consecutive term, heading to Italy to join the G7 Summit. India’s participation as an Outreach Country marked its 11th engagement with the G7, with PM Modi’s fifth consecutive participation.
