XLRI announces admission process for Delhi-NCR campus

XLRI has announced the start of the admission process of 120 students for the first batch in its Delhi-NCR campus for the academic Session 2020-22. Two sections of 60 students each for the business management programme will be offered admissions. The AICTE has given formal approval to start the operations of the XLRI Delhi-NCR campus. The foundation stone for the XLRI Delhi-NCR campus in Jhajjar district was laid on 16 January 2017.

In the years ahead, the new campus will offer a broad portfolio of courses including the regular two-year post-graduate programmes in human resource management and business management, 15-month executive general management programme for the executives having experience of more than five years, fellow programme in management, corporate programme and certificate programme in entrepreneurship and other industry-relevant short and long term programmes will be launched in a phase-wise manner.

Anant University launches course in urban design

Gujarat-based design university Anant National University (AnantU) has launched a course in urban design recently. The Masters of Urban Design is a two-year full-time multidisciplinary programme offered to all graduates especially from design, architecture, planning, civil engineering, environmental engineering, and social sciences backgrounds. Poised to prepare urban solutions, the programme is designed at the interface of architecture, planning and strategic management. The programme seeks to nurture young talents for smart cities who want to drive the change with their revolutionary thinking and solution-oriented mindset. It endows students with the necessary technical skills and sensitises them to emerging challenges.

In addition, students will also be taught fundamentals of sectors like heritage development, housing, utilities, transportation, environment and the like. They will also be trained for specific skills of mapping, future trend analysis, geographic information system, project formulation, project finance, negotiation, etc. The comprehensive knowledge, from a design idea to implementation, enables students to effectively implement a real project in association with an implementing/funding agency.

IIHMR University organises e-convocation

IIHMR University, Jaipur, organised its sixth convocation ceremony online in which 216 students were given their management and doctorate degrees during e-convocation, where 8 students were awarded gold and silver medals. Among them, 4 girls were given a gold medal, while 3 girls and 1 boy were awarded a silver medal. Dr Raghu Sharma, Rajasthan minister, Priyanka Agarwal, MD and partner, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), New Delhi, Dr Pankaj Gupta, president, IIHMR University, and Dr S.D. Gupta, chairperson, IIHMR University, were present at the online event.

Dr Pankaj Gupta said, “My heartfelt congratulations with a special appreciation to those students who will be receiving awards, medals, and distinctions. Our initiative of conducting 50+ webinars with 100+ virtual speakers, during Covid-19 Lockdown, helped our students to stay ahead and updated with the healthcare scenario across the world.”

TalentSprint to teach robotic skills to college students

To prepare and train students in emerging technologies and prepare themselves for new-age jobs in the post-Covid scenario, edutech company TalentSprint has partnered with Blue Prism to build Robotic Process Automation (RPA) skills among India’s college students. The focus is to certify at least 10,000 students on Blue Prism Foundation Certification by the end of 2020, thereby making them job-ready once they graduate. It will offer this programme to the students of over 50 colleges that have set up ‘TalentSprint Centres of Excellence’ across India. While the programme will be offered in a self-paced learning format, the students will have the additional benefit of being mentored by skilled faculty.

UK-based edu-tech firm launches ‘AceTute Learning’

Expanding its reach in the Indian education sector, UKbased company Theseus Global (Education) Ltd has launched ‘AceTute Learning’, a one-of-itskind online tutorial platform. It links British educators with students and parents in India. Its goal is to facilitate the dissemination of quality education to aspiring Indian students.

AceTute Learning is an interactive education platform with innovative tutorials for CBSE, IGCSE, IA, and International Baccalaureate exams. Other than the normal curriculum, it also offers tutorials in spoken English for conversation and business.
