On Sunday, the weather department IMD predicts a heavy to very heavy monsoon for Mumbai in coming four to five days.

This warning comes amidst the time, when the city continues to witness intense rainfall amidst an orange alert announced for Konkan region.

Meanwhile on 24 hours between Saturday & Sunday morning, the financial capital of India Mumbai witnessed 93 mm of monsoon. Earlier, the city witnessed 100 mm of rainfall for three continuous days.

The heavy monsoon continues to take place at remote places and IMD has announced yellow alert for Mumbai for coming 3 days.

According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Trombay’s Shahji Nagar Municipal School has witnessed 155.6 mm of monsoon. The other areas like ‘N’ Division office, Nutan Vidyamandir Mankhurd, Adarsh Nagar and worli respectively witnessed 151.1 mm, 149.6 mm and 129.2 mm of rainfall.

From various areas of the city, the incidents of waterlogging were witnessed. Maharashtra’s chief minister Eknath Shinde gave instructions to SDRF, district establishment, police, municipal corporations and municipalities to remain active to aid the people in every possible ways and whenever needed.

Weather Update For Other StatesĀ 

As for other states, IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy monsoon with thunderstorms and lightning for Himalayan state Himachal Pradesh on Monday & Tuesday.

The following districts, which are likely to witness monsoon are Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Chamba Solan, Shimla, Sirmaur, and Kullu.

In southern state Kerala, heavy rain is forecasted for state’s isolated areas on July 21st & 22nd.

As for Northern India, IMD has predicted scattered to light & moderate monsoon with thunderstorms & lightning for places like East Rajasthan, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh in coming 5 days.
