With heavy rains continuing across several parts of Kerala, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a red alert for two districts, predicting extremely heavy rainfall. The latest update from the IMD places Pathanamthitta and Idukki under this alert.

In response to the ongoing rains, Kerala Health Minister Veena George announced the activation of the State Control Room in the Health Department Directorate to enhance epidemic prevention efforts. Health workers and the public can contact the control room at 0471-2302160, 9946102865, and 9946102862, according to a report by ANI.

Minister George stated that the Control Room would oversee epidemic prevention coordination, data management, hospital services, drug availability, protocols, and incident response. Additionally, the public can contact the Disha Call Center for health-related queries at 104, 1056, 0471-2552056, and 2551056. The Disha services are available 24/7, and the e-Sanjeevini Doctors service is also accessible.
