The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rainfall in more than 10 districts of Tamil Nadu over the next three days. According to the IMD, districts including Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi, Madurai, Dindigul, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Tiruvallur, Ranipet, Kancheepuram, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, and Tiruvarur are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places.

The IMD has issued an orange alert for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on November 22 and 23, indicating the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall. The alert advises residents to prepare for rainfall ranging from 115.6 to 204.4 mm during this period. The sky condition is expected to be partly cloudy, with the likelihood of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in some areas.

The Regional Meteorological Center in Chennai reported sudden heavy rainfall in places like Kanchipuram, Walajabad, Uthiramerur, and along the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway. The IMD’s forecast emphasizes the need for caution and preparedness in the face of the expected heavy rainfall in the specified regions.
