When the founder and CEO of Arva Health, invited applications for a full stack engineer role with her startup, she received an unexpected glimpse into a candidate’s love life. Dipalie Bajaj shared a screenshot of the applicant’s form on the social media platform X.

In the form, the unnamed applicant answered very honestly when asked why he thought he would be a good fit for the role. He stated that he needed the job so he could marry his childhood love. The candidate explained that his girlfriend’s father had refused permission for their marriage because he was unemployed.

Responding to the question “Why are you fit for this role?” the job-seeker wrote, “I believe I bring a unique blend of Full stack that aligns well with the requirements of this role. Also if I don’t get this job I would never marry my childhood love because her father say u will only marry her if you have a job [sic].”

Bajaj shared the candidate’s answer on X, commenting, “Hiring can be fun too.”

The post garnered amusement on X, with many suggesting that the CEO hire the candidate for his honesty.

“Hire him for the honesty,” wrote one commenter, while another said, “Get him a job omg.” A third person asked, “My question is did it work, like did it give you an extra edge to shortlist this person?”

Bajaj did not reveal whether the candidate made it to the next round of hiring but mentioned that applications are still open for the full stack engineer role at Arva Health, which requires two years of experience.

Arva Health, a healthcare startup by Nidhi Panchmal and Dipalie Bajaj, has developed and launched at-home fertility tests for women.
